Volunteer Services
Volunteers are the heart of Community Living London and play a vital role in our mission to ensure the people we support are living fulfilled lives. Our cast of 200+ volunteers are a valued part of our team and play a significant role in all areas of our agency, developing lasting relationships with people and helping to improve their overall sense of well-being. Our volunteers inspire possibilities!
What Opportunities Are Available?
During this period of physical distancing you can help us keep the people we support connected to the community–VIRTUALLY! We are in need of pen pals, musicians, magic-makers, meditation teachers, and MORE! Contact Melanie for more information, to share your ideas, or to get involved! melanie.alexander@cll.on.ca
Community Living London can find a place for anyone to volunteer! Here are some typical opportunities for volunteers:
One-to-One Match
We’ll match you with an adult with a developmental disability in a friendship and ask you to spend time together twice/month, based on your availability. Some of our matches have been spending time together for more than 15 years! Volunteers in this program say they get more out of the relationship than they ever could have imagined!
Recreation/Leisure Program
Spend time weekly in a recreation program ensuring participants are engaged in the activity! Some examples include: Glee Club, cupcake decorating, woodworking, card/board games, cooking classes and much more!
Committees
Is working on a committee more your style? We have several committees that volunteers sit on and can provide more information upon request.
Other Opportunities
If you have a special skill or interest you’d like to utilize, let us know and we can develop a mutually beneficial opportunity.

How Do I Become a Volunteer?
All of our volunteers are required to submit an application form and references, attend an interview and provide a current Criminal Reference Check. Once you have been approved, we’ll give you an opportunity to meet the person (or people) you’ll be spending time with.
Our staff will provide you with a complete orientation and be there to support you as you become a part of our team!
